OUR MISSION
STATEMENT: Too
few Americans are participating in the democratic process. This is why
we want to inform the public about critical issues of peace, justice,
and US Foreign Policy using politically relevant films that are not
emphasized in the mainstream media.

THE FILM
When I Came Home is a film about homeless veterans in America:
from those who served in Vietnam to those returning from the
current war in Iraq. The film looks at the challenges faced
by returning combat veterans and the battle many must fight
for the benefits promised to them.Through the story of Herold
Noel, an Iraq War veteran suffering from Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder and living in his car in Brooklyn, When I Came Home
reveals a failing system and the veterans struggle to
survive after returning from the war.
The event is free, open to the public, and co-sponsored by the
Peace Center K.N.O.W and the People's Church Social Justice

Quotes:
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light
can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies
hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness, in
a descending spiral of destruction. The chain reaction of evil must be broken,
or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation."
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched,
every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger
and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." President Dwight
D. Eisenhower (April 16, 1953)
